Marquee Wedding at French Farm

Story

It feels very strange writing up a foreword for your own wedding, but I will do my best! Our wedding has been some time coming – with running a business in this space, to raising a young family we thought it was something we would never get around to (or, more specifically I had given up waiting to be asked)!

Styling your own wedding is incredibly difficult. I find styling our clients weddings easy – it’s easy to figure out what people want and what is important to them, and then to work out the best way we can create on their budget. Being inside my own head, this was very challenging!

I wanted to create something we hadn’t done before, giving full creative freedom gives endless choices so narrowing that down was tricky. I wanted to stay true to what I naturally love – which is neutral, contemporary and sophisticated tones, while somehow incorporating some moody black elements.

We went with mocha napkins, chocolate signage and stationery which was all custom designed in-house. Florals were all in nudes, beige, peach and rusts and we were so fortunate to have an abundance of dahlia’s (a nod to my late mother who loved them). We had a huge 10m long fresh greenery wall with florals popped throughout, and our arch was custom made here in Christchurch after I had saw something similar on Pinterest. It was bursting with florals and an absolute dream!

When I entered our marquee I honestly felt like walking in my own thoughts and dreams. It was an awful lots of graft, and I couldn’t have been more proud of our team for bringing it altogether for us. I was a bit overwhelmed with how stunning it all looked, and this time – it was for us.
