MARQUEE + EVENTS TEAM 

Casual Position

These positions suit someone who is backpacking, in employment or study and looking for extra hours. Work is throughout the week - from weekdays to weekend and includes late nights at times.

Work is various and includes installation of marquees, loading and delivering furniture and setup at events.

  • Tasks are various, with training given -

    • Picking orders and loading trucks

    • Deliveries and collections (van/trucks)

    • Set-up and pack-down of decor, lighting and furniture for events and weddings

    • Installation and packdown of marquees

  • If you fit the following, we would love to hear from you:

    • You must be physically fit as this role can be physically demanding

    • Great communicator and problem-solving skills ⁣⁠

    • Great work ethic and punctual

    • Full, clean drivers license and can confidently drive a manual⁣⁠

    • Comfortable to learn to drive our manual and auto small trucks (Class 1)

  • This is a casual position, with work on a “as required” basis.

    Suitable for with someone with other employment, studying or backpacking who is wanting additional hours.

    Our busiest months are November - March.

FLORAL DESIGNER 

Casual Position

You have the very unique opportunity to work on some of the most beautifully styled weddings and events in the South Island, as well as supercharging your skills creating epic installations and refining the latest floral trends.

We are looking for more floral designers who can join our creative team, with the ability to work during the week and weekends.

  • Tasks include:

    • Conditioning and preparing flowers

    • Arranging florals - from buttonholes and bouquets to centerpieces and statement florals

    • Assisting with hanging installations and on-site floral work (training given)

    • Clean up including washing buckets, work areas and general tidying the floral area

    • Delivering florals, and on-site work particularly for weddings (e.g. installations, arches)

  • While no formal floral qualifications are required, applicants must be experienced in particular floral practices and floral experience, aswell as be willing and excited to learn, particularly installation work.

    • Experience in the floral industry

    • Competent in wedding florals - buttonholes, bouquets, corsages and floral crowns

    • Confidence and competency in wiring

    • Ability to work alone

    • Some floral ordering experience is helpful

    • Full, clean drivers license

  • This is a casual position, with work on an “as required” basis.

    During our busy November - March period work is available for our casual team, anywhere from 5 - 15 hours per week at times.

    The majority of work falls Wednesday - Saturday. There is also additional event work and on-site floral which is typically on weekends which is available if desired.

    With the nature of most floral work, working hours can be flexible around school hours during the week. As long as the work gets done well, we are happy for flexible hours where possible.
