  • Can they be installed on concrete or turf?

    Yes they can - instead of pegging them into the ground, we use water drums. We will need close access to a water source for our team to fill these up.

    How customisable is the marquee in terms of clear and white walls/roof?

    We have clear and white wall panels, and roof panels so you can decide how you want these. Some clients want to alternative roof panels between clear and white, aswell as having some sides white to block out any particular view (e.g. toilets). It’s completely up to you.

    Does the marquee need to be installed on flat ground?

    Yes - however obviously some paddocks have natural variations which is OK. If you’re unsure about your particular site then just ask us. We can also arrange a site visit.

    How clean are your marquees? I have seen some fairly grubby ones.

    Our marquees are premium, and we like to keep them that way! We clean our marquees as we are taking them down, and we clean any areas that need it as they are installed to keep them in pristine condition.

  • Can you install the marquee on uneven ground?

    Our Nomad marquees can be installed on uneven ground and are much more versatile for different terrain. As we also peg these, they can go over decks and other objects much easier than our Clipframe range.

    I’ve seen stretch tents set out differently, for example one side down, and one side up - other times both up. Can we choose this?

    Absolutely! For safety reasons, we do have the back of the tent down for all installations. You can otherwise choose the configuration - noting that the more sides you have down the smaller the footprint inside your tent.
    We like to have both sides up aswell as the front.

    What is the difference between the Nomad Marquee and Clipframe Marquee?

    The Nomad’s have poles inside, and at the back to give them a real organic look - whereas the Clipframe Marquees don’t have any poles inside which give them a more open space. They also don’t have sides, unless these are pegged down in your chosen configuration.

6 Weeks Out

This is when we get into the details:

  • Final guest numbers, timings, and any updates

  • Logistics (catering marquee, generator, toilets, access routes)

  • Option for a site visit

  • Two floorplans rendered (fine weather + wet weather) so you’re covered either way

💳 Final payment is also due.

Installation

Our crew arrives and sets the scene:

  • On-site all day

  • Furniture usually delivered the following day

We return to dismantle everything with minimal disruption.

  • We’ll guide you through the ideal size based on your guest numbers, layout (seated dinner, cocktail-style, dancefloor, lounge areas etc.), and any extras like a bar or dancefloor.

    You don’t need to guess - we create a custom floorplan for every wedding, so everything flows beautifully and feels just right (not squishy or sparse).

    Think of us as your space stylists. We’ll make sure every square metre works for you.

  • No - this is a complete myth.

    While it may seem like a blank canvas is the budget-friendly option, marquee weddings involve everything a venue includes (and more)—marquee hire, power, toilets, lighting, furniture, flooring, and a professional team. It’s about building your own venue from the ground up, beautifully.

  • Ideally, 10–18 months out - especially for peak wedding season (Nov–Mar) when marquee dates book up fast. If your date is flexible or off-season, we may be able to accommodate with a shorter lead time.

    That said, sooner is always better. Booking early gives you the best selection, plenty of time for creative planning, and peace of mind knowing the big stuff is locked in.

  • We sure do! While we’re proudly Christchurch-based, we regularly style and install marquee weddings across Canterbury and beyond including Waipara, Akaroa, Lake Tekapo, Wanaka, and the odd wild hilltop or lakeside paddock.

    We’ll chat through logistics, access, and travel as part of your proposal - so there are no surprises, just stunning views and a well-prepped team ready to bring your vision to life

  • Yes, in many cases it can! Our Nomad stretch tents are especially well-suited for sloped or uneven terrain - they’re flexible, anchored into the ground, and work beautifully with natural landscapes.

    For clear marquees, we’ll assess the site to determine what's possible.

    Not sure if your site will work? Just send us a few photos - or we can organise a site visit. We’ll help you choose the right marquee for the space, so everything feels safe, stylish, and seamless.

  • Once on-site, our team will be there for approx 4-8 hours depending on the size and complexity of the site. There will be 4-5 team members on-site for this duration.

    • Location: Remote or tricky sites (like farms or hillsides) can require extra logistics, transport, or permissions.

    • Marquee style & size: Clear marquees have a luxe look and a higher price point than stretch tents, and larger guest numbers naturally increase the size needed.

    • Setup, styling & coordination: Investing in full-service support adds ease and ensures everything looks and feels cohesive from the start.

    What additional costs should we plan for?

    • Council consent (required for structures over 100 m² - we can do this for you)
      Power supply or generator hire
      Catering tent, service bars and lounge furniture
      Toilets, heating and additional lighting
      On-the-day coordination or pack-down labour
